There was a story on the radio the other day that said car manufacturers realized that people were getting distracted by their dashboard touch screens so designers were returning to buttons and dials. Which seems obvious. But there is a rush towards the new - especially in America. Supposedly because it's a young country with young ideas. In an interview I heard recently, Marlene Dietrich talked about this, saying, "in Europe they have a car they have it 15 years and they polish it and they wash it. They love it. But here, people don't love their cars because they know they're going to get another one. " And she wasn't buying the excuse that "America still thinks that it's a young nation."  "I think they've been young long enough they should grow up."
