This wine-coloured tulip was the beneficiary of a deluge of rain and is oblivious to the fact it flooded my basement and forced me to stay up late pumping out the surging tide and emptying bucket of Home Depot orange bucket into the wet night. Even if I could somehow communicate this to the grass and plants and trees and flowers that thrive with the rain, I wouldn't. Why risk them feeling guilty?
