Air travel is a modern miracle that has been so normalized we focus on its pettiest aspects. It's like a magic trick. We get in a box then disappear under the cloak of darkness and then abracadabra we are gone from one spot and have emerged in another. Historically speaking we are the 1%, possessing what amounts to  a superpower. We  have the gift of flight the Greeks mythologized about and surpassed Jules Verne's wildest dreams.  But being human, we complain about stale peanuts, delays, and old movie selections. Yesterday when I told my neighbour that the meal selections were chicken or pasta, he was incredulous. "Seriously?" he asked. I'm still not sure what he meant.
