I like to imagine the flowers growing all day when I'm at the office then perking up a little when I close the car door and walk past, hoping I'll notice them. Does one think it's prettier than the others? I noticed them today - a sharp contrast against the green garden and like a cluster of tiny suns under an overcast grey sky. When I go out again after the sweeping winds and lashing rain, will a few petals be missing? Their days are numbered, which makes them more beautiful. My days are numbered, too and it's hard to imagine it any other way.
