Some days time makes no sense. Or maybe it's that time's absurd nature becomes apparent. I was convinced it must have been about lunch time but when I checked it was only 11 am. Then a few minutes later it was suddenly 12:20. That hour disappeared into a magician's sleeve. Some weeks have odd shapes - like irregular circles; thin in some places then thicker around the middle. It's Friday again, yet no time has passed seemingly because you're in the same place. Important events recede into the distance implausibly, the vividness of their experience against all odds and expectations fades. And it feels like a betrayal. The artist Christian Marclay made a film 24 Hours long called The Clock in which he spliced together images from films of clocks and watches representing every minute of the day. Watching it is oddly satisfying - as if you are exactly where you are meant to be at every moment.
