Stumbling onto an old movie you hadn't thought about in years in a hotel room is one of life's great unheralded pleasures. The Wizard of Oz in particular is an inexhaustible source of fun. Bert Lahr's Cowardly Lion especially is an all-time great performance that never gets old. He owns the screen the moment he appears and stays in your head for a lifetime. The way he bites down on the 'c' s as he reapeats the word "courage" is so inexplicably perfect you become a kid again as you watch no matter where you are on your journey. Of course if the movie around him wasn't so well constructed it would have been lost to history, but it all comes together as if the world had the same crazy dream all at once.
